New Eye Balls

i frequently have to remind myself how old emerson is. she has always been a smidge ahead of her time , attitude included. so really it was of little surprise when she became the proud new owner of contacts yesterday.

she recently (in the past few months) has been boycotting her glasses. she rarely wears them at home. she has designated times/activities for which she wears them at school. she claims they hurt her eyes and she can see fine without them. hmm. pretty sure reality says she just doesn't want to wear them. her friends don't wear them and only two boys in her class have glasses.

so, off to the doctor we went yesterday. and yes, she still needs glasses. she really needs glasses! dr cindy was willing to go along with emerson's request: contacts were prescribed! after a three hour appointment, we left the office with contacts on the eye balls and a smile on em's face! she is the youngest they have seen thus far with contacts!

now if we could only perfect the insertion process! a previous stranger to contacts, i am now on the verge of being an expert!
